Story from cousin Steve. Here are the latest picture of the Max and Fanny Wolf Grandchildren’s Club. We met at the home of Naomi and Steve Kline in Valley Stream and all had a good time. We voted to send Grandma Wolf a subscription to T.V. Guide while reminiscing about Lil Stecklow’s pet parakeet in the bungalow on Beach 24th Street.
Saturday May 30, 2009, Flushing, NY Sparkling new ballpark. 100 family and friends. A picture perfect day. Same old Bleacherfest results. The Mets dropped their 6th straight Bleacherfest, this one 7-3 to the Marlins. There was no drama this year as the Mets lineup posted prior to game time resembled a minor league squad. “We always wanted to go to a Brooklyn Cyclones game” joked cousin Jordy. Perhaps they would have had better results. The all-time Bleacherfest record now stands at 2-7 after this years 9th installment. The best results once again didn’t happen on the field as over $2,000 was raised for 3 important family charities, thanks in part to a per ticket donation as well as a matching donation from the National Football League. The 3 charities are JDRF, Alzheimers Research and the St Barnabas Miracle Walk, to benefit the St Barnabas NICU unit. Thanks to everyone for the support. With the new venue providing little “private” area for socializing, the lack of a raffle, and no Ben’s deli, Bleacherfest took on a much different feel this year. Organizers will go back to the drawing board for Bleacherfest 10 and try to work with the Mets to get an area more “ownable” for our group.
